BarMagic client named to America's 10 Best Resorts List
BarMagic of Las Vegas client The Greenbrier was just named to Yahoo! Travel's "Top 10 Resorts in America" list this week, coming in at number seven. In 2007 BarMagic of Las Vegas spent 10 months retooling the entire beverage and nightlife offerings of the 229-year old historic landmark resort, a 4-star 5-diamond resort and spa in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. From concept development and space planning to cocktail development and union-certified staff training, in total BarMagic retooled seven existing beverage outlets, helped design three new concepts including a basement VIP Speakeasy, trained 120 bartenders, and launched more than 60 gourmet, fresh cocktail features including "The Martini Experience," a $100 a drink 5-star tableside and the "Grilled & Chilled" a $450 a round gourmet gastro-molecular tableside experience. BMLV was also scoped to provide a complete overhaul of beverage inventories, profitability, and all other systems and controls related to beverage operations.

BarMagic caters GQ party in Las Vegas
BarMagic of Las Vegas was hired to cater a Magic after-party for GQ Magazine at Stack Restaurant in the Mirage this week. The event was sponsored by Absolut Spirits and BMLV created a cocktail feature using the new Absolut Los Angeles, a fruit infusion of Pomegranate, Açai, and Acerola. BarMagic's feature called the Via Rodeo in honor of Rodeo drive in LA, was a simple mix of Absolut LA, fresh-pressed lime juice, and orange marmalade. In a tongue-in-cheek manner, the drink came with optional "accessories" including a triple-berry demi-tasse popsicle (Pomegranate-Blueberry-Açai) and an Açai-Falernum Espuma. BarMagic has been providing upscale gourmet mobile bar catering all over the world since 1997 for VIP, celebrity, and Fortune 500 events.

BarMagic captures 3 Best of Honolulu Awards
BMLV client Thirtyninehotel, an unusual upscale cocktail bar and media space in Chinatown, Honolulu, Hawaii racked up three Best of Honolulu awards under the leadership of BMLV consultant Christian Self. Awards included "Best Late Night Bar," "Best Ambiance," "Best Bartender," and runner-up for "Best Upscale Bar." BMLV provided design and operational consultation as well as a complete beverage program with fresh classic and contempory cocktail list, all under the direction of BMLV's Christian Self.

BMLV creates National Launch cocktails for Absolut Mango
Absolut Spirits contracted BarMagic of Las Vegas to create cocktail features for the national US Launch of their newest flavor, Absolut Mango. BarMagic's Kristen Schaefer and Tobin Ellis developed a dozen original drink features showcasing the natural fruit Mango infused Vodka. The features range from simple and highly-operational staples such as a Mango Gimlet to savory upscale features such as Jan's Cobbler, the Butterfly, and the Tongue Thai'd, a Southeast Asian influenced cocktail with coconut milk, ginger syrup, mango water, lemongrass, and orange bitters. BMLV has been creating cocktail features for product launches, national promotions, and national accounts for the past ten years.

BMLV Spirited Dinner in New Orleans a Sell-out
BarMagic of Las Vegas' Spirited Dinner at The Pelican Club, one of nearly 20 such dinners hosted by top Mixologists, authors, and spirit experts from around the world was not only one of just three dinners that sold-out but also was the largest Spirited Dinner at this year's Tales of the Cocktail. The BMLV team served nearly 1000 gourmet cocktails to a 110 guests in a three-hour period, each one paired with a different course of Chef Richard Hughes creation. From prohibition-style classics such as the "Sunseri Fizz" to gastro-molecular showpieces like the "Grilled & Chilled," the entire cocktail progression was a showcase of global trends in fresh culinary-style cocktails.

Tobin Ellis leads panel on Smarter Bar Design at Tales of the Cocktail
Nightlife developer and well-traveled cocktail consultant Tobin Ellis was asked to lead a panel during one of the American Express Professional Series Seminars hosted by Cheers! Magazine at this year's Tales of the Cocktail, in New Orleans. BarMagic of Las Vegas' Tobin Ellis was recently hired to prepare some of his companies signature cocktails as featured on Food Network at Chalk Hill Estates in Sonoma, California this week on behalf of Colin Cowie Lifestyle. Part of the event included a tableside demo of BMLV's "Grilled & Chilled," a Grand Marnier caramelization of an Añejo Margarita fused with a Chiliean Red Wine Sangria and topped with a citrus and cardamom-tincture foam.

Tobin Ellis Demos at London Bar Show
BarMagic Principal Tobin Ellis was invited by Simon Ford of Plymouth Gin to speak and demo on a panel during this year's London Bar Show held at Earl Court. The panel was on American cocktail trends and also included Francesco LaFranconi, Allen Katz, Bridget Albert, David Nepove, and Willy Shine. Ellis spoke about trends in tablesides and emerging enhancements to VIP bottle service that are popular and lucrative in markets like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, and Miami. He also created an impromptu cocktail with a touch of working flair using a Chai Tea infused Cruzan Single Barrel Rum, fresh ginger, fresh lemon sour, egg whites, and Angostura bitters.
